Use Case
After deployment of vRealize Automation 7.6 it comes with no configuration nor content available. In order to allow you to deploy your 1st Blueprint I will guide you step-by-step in this process about preparing your Tenant, Endpoint, Resources, Business Groups and Reservations to allow your deployment.
Pre-Requirements
Having a vRealize Automation 7.6 (Mininal or Distributed environment) deployed. If you want to see more about it, check my previous post: https://vra4u.com/2019/05/30/how-to-deploy-vra-76/
Initial Configuration (Partially Automated)
vRealize Automation 7.6 brings us a nice XaaS Blueprint (Anything as a Service Blueprint), allowing us to execute a single workflow and “requiring ZERO KNOWLEDGE” for performing a basic configuration.

What does this workflow do (Automated)
In a nutshell this workflow will execute couple of tasks to Setup & Configure a New Tenant / New Endpoint / New Fabric Group & Compute Resources
What doesn’t (Manual)
We require manual Setup & Configuration for a New Business Group / New Resource Reservation.
Initial Configuration
In order to see the Initial Configuration workflow, just access the default tenant https://vra-fqdn/vcac

Logon with your initial user account created during deployment ( configurationadmin@vsphere.local)
Next Steps we guide you to create a New Tenant / New Endpoint / New Fabric Group & Compute Resources
TIP:
- Make sure you type the correct agent name (“vCenter“) deployed during wizard.
- Correct Cluster Name to be linked as Compute Resources
Execute logoff
Checking Initial Configuration
Login on into new tenant https://vra-fqdn/vcac/org/<TenantName>, you are able check all the configurations in place.
Manual Configuration
In order to be able to deploy your 1st Blueprint, it’s required couple of basic elements to be in place, as such:
- Who is deploying it > “user account“
- Which Business group the user belongs to
- Defining from where the computer resource will be consumed > Reservation
Business Group
Reservations
Next Steps
All the “infrastructure configuration” is in place as of now. Next step deploy your 1st Blueprint >> .
See you there.
